Since today is Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 60th birthday I decided it would be a good day to write about why I hope Arnold becomes the President of the USA. Although I am an Aussie and not an American and it has no real direct influence over my life who is the President of America I decided to write this article since I am such a huge advocate of the vast power of the mind. I personally got onto the personal development path through my long interest in the power of the subconscious mind and I became involved in bodybuilding which changed my life for the better after seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger.
During the 1970’s Arnold was the greatest bodybuilder and the most muscular man in the history of mankind. Still to this day he is recognized for this in the Guinness Book of World Records. Although Arnold had the best built body of all time it was not his body that got him where he is today. Arnold had a gift and that gift appeared outwardly to be physical in nature but his true source of personal power was in his ability to harness the incredible capacity of his subconscious mind. It was his mental power that allowed him to conquer the world of bodybuilding and it is that same mental strength that has allowed him to achieve such a phenomenal amount of success throughout his lifetime and this still continues till today, Arnold’s 60th birthday.
Getting back to why I hope Arnold becomes the President, it is his incredible will to succeed in any endeavor he puts his mind to that makes me feel he would be a worthwhile President. This guy came to America when he was just 21 years old and could barely speak a word of English and has gone on to become the number one bodybuilder in the world for his entire bodybuilding career. He followed this by conquering Hollywood with his heavy Austrian accent in a way no other person who was not a native speaker of English has ever done. When I say conquer I should really say dominate since that is what he did through sheer will power when there are certainly better actors out there than him. After 20 years at the top of Hollywood he has moved on to become Governor of the 6th biggest economy in the world and has done all this as a self made man who was not born an American and who did not come from a wealthy family.
No matter if you like or dislike Arnold, what he stands for in my opinion is a person who proves anyone can do anything they want with their life if they put their mind to it. Arnold is no better than the next guy, he has no special powers. He is a man with a free will to do as he pleases and he has shown the self discipline and personal drive to win in almost all if not all endeavors he puts his mind to. I think Arnold is a testament to the power of the mind and sets a great example for the rest of us to follow. I am not saying he is without fault, none of us are but he is a true winner in every sense of the word.
It makes me feel happy when I see people achieving great success in their lives and inspires me to become the best I can be and watching successful people makes me realize we are all accountable for what we do. We can just as easy be a success or a failure in life depending on what we focus our minds on. Choosing to be a success or a failure is always our own personal choice no matter where we are in life. You don’t need to be given money or to be someone from a wealthy family to be a phenomenal success in life, you only need to believe in your own abilities and follow your dream and over time, just like Arnold has done, you will eventually be living that dream and you will deserve every little bit of the success your earn through self discipline and the courage to believe in yourself.
Happy birthday Arnold and good luck Mr. President, if I was an American you would have my support.
