This is why bodybuilders make the best personal trainers. When I say bodybuilder, I don’t necessarily mean he or she needs to be a former Mr. or Miss Universe but what I am saying is look at the physique of the trainer as that is the best advertisement they can possibly give you. The main reason why bodybuilders make the best personal trainers is because they live and breathe training, and not just with weights. What a lot of people don’t know is that most of a bodybuilders work is done outside the gym.
So you may be thinking, “oh I’ve seen some of those muscle heads at the gym and I don’t want to look like that”. That’s ok as it takes many years of hard training and dedication to become noticeably more muscular than the average person, it certainly doesn’t happen overnight and don’t worry, you won’t get big and muscular by accident.
Maybe you have also noticed that sometimes bodybuilder personal trainers may not look very approachable as they seem so serious in the gym. In most cases you are right on the money with half of your assessment of them. They are very serious in the gym and that is exactly what you want if you want quality results in the shortest possible time. As for not being approachable, this is just not the case. Of course you don’t want to bother them while they are busy working out but most bodybuilders are more than happy to help you if you ask them at the appropriate time. Most bodybuilders love nothing more than to talk about training or dieting with someone else who seems genuinely interested in the same thing they are.
Whether it is muscle you want to gain or fat you want to lose, bodybuilders make the best personal trainers and are the ideal trainers to get you where you want to be. A good bodybuilder will approach his workout as well as plan yours from a mental standpoint before even stepping foot in the gym. He will start with your goals and work out a battle plan by giving you the facts about what you will need to do mentally and physically to attain them. Remember, he is only your guide, you are the one who has to do the work as he will not be with you day and night.
When a bodybuilder goes into a competition if he plans to win and believe me, most bodybuilders are very serious about winning or they wouldn’t go through the hell of a bodybuilding diet in the first place, they need to get the body fat level over their entire body at the same thickness as the skin on the top of your hand. Most people will go through their entire lives from birth and will never achieve anywhere near this low level of body fat. No body really needs to have a body fat level around this range but the reason you want to be trained by someone who knows how to do this is because he can take you as far as you can mentally and physically cope with. If he has the mental and physical strength to take himself there he can certainly advise you on how to get where it is you want to be, this is another reason why bodybuilders make the best personal trainers. Don’t be afraid, the level of intensity at which you diet or train is up to you and your bodybuilder personal trainer will work with you to help you reach the goals you set for yourself. So if it’s weight loss you are after, the bodybuilder trainer is your best bet. Forget about losing serious amounts of fat over the course of years, a bodybuilder will help you lose your fat in months, safely, and advise you on how to keep it off. The last thing you want is to do all the necessary work, start looking and feeling good about yourself and then put all the weight back on again.
If you are looking to gain muscle there is no one more qualified for this task than a bodybuilder. Forget about all the nonsense you may have heard about needing drugs to gain muscle, you don’t need anything more than good food and perhaps some natural supplements to build a quality physique. Yes, some bodybuilders use drugs in their quest for size and if that’s what you want to do that’s your business, I’m not here to judge you or anyone else but what I will say is, you can definitely build some serious muscle mass without using drugs. Supplementing your diet with protein powder is one way your bodybuilder trainer will explain to you how you can speed up the muscle building process. Since your bodybuilder personal trainer has worked to build his or her own well muscled body, they are the ones who will help you build yours and most bodybuilders will tell you how to avoid the mistakes they made along the way to get the best results, the safest way by avoiding injury and in the quickest possible time.
Bodybuilders have often been stereotyped unfairly but yes there are some bodybuilders who you should probably best avoid but that is the case with many types of athletes and people in general. There are friendly and unfriendly people in all walks of life. If you are looking for a quality personal trainer and want solid advice and guidance from someone who knows what they are talking about you can’t go past a bodybuilder personal trainer. I’m sure in most cases you will be pleasantly surprised when you talk with them and even happier when they fast track you to quality results.

I agree with you 100%! Honestly, if I was to ever look at getting a personal trainer, they would have to at least have the appearance of someone who practices what they will be preaching to me, essentially actually have a great body! So many times I go to the gym and see trainers that look like I do. Granted, they may have some sort of degree or something that makes them qualified, but I’d much rather work with someone that has put their knowledge into personal experience. Then they’re much more likely to be an effective trainer for me.

Your article was very good. Clients should always look for a Personal Trainer that has a well developed physique. If they can get results for themselves, then they will get results for you.
