What Happens if You Steal

November 14th, 2007

Whenever we perform any action in life, no matter how seemingly insignificant that action is, we send out a wave of energy into the universe. When we engage in performing positive actions like helping others or helping to improve the quality of our own lives, this creates a positive wave of energy that will flow out into the universe, gathering more like energy and since all energy moves in circles, this wave of positive energy will eventually return to us magnified. The same principle works if we send out negative energy.

So what happens if you steal? Some people might be under the illusion that you can steal and get away with it without being caught for your crime. Well there is a chance you could steal or commit an act of theft and not get caught by the person you are stealing from or get caught by the police. However, you will be punished for your crime, that is as certain as is the force of gravity on earth.

Due to the inescapable law of cause and effect, every one of our actions in life comes back to us in some way at some stage in the future. It is not like someone or some higher power is watching you, it is simply a law of the universe. What ever type of energy you put out into the universe is what you will get back. If you steal you will never gain any benefit from the item you have stolen, in fact it will only cause you problems. If you steal money, that money will only bring you trouble since that stolen money is dripping with negative energy. Since energy is attracted to like energy, an item or money that was stolen carries negative energy and that can only attract more negative energy.

You might think that you know some people who have gotten away with stealing but let me tell you, they have not gotten away with anything. The universe always pays you back for the actions you make. You might steal but the universe might pay you back in another completely different way which will hurt you as much or considerably more than your theft hurt the person you stole from.

It never ceases to amaze me when I here stories about people stealing or committing crimes, do they really think they will get away with it? Sadly the types of people who commit crimes never seem to find happiness since they are obviously not aware of what most of us know intuitively and that is you get what you give in life due to the inescapable universal law of cause and effect.

Great Article John. I stole little things as a child and young adult, not knowing any better, and have nicked things from the office like markers and paperclips, pens etc. (i’m guessing i’m not the only one to have done this..he he)

Looking back at these actions, I wonder why I did this? Maybe I was jacked off with the boss and subconsciously wanted to ‘get him back’. I don’t know, but yeah, even these little things we steal we pay for in some way or another.

I have changed greatly in the last few years, on subtle levels. I don’t take things from the office anymore, and if I find a wallet or purse, I return it with the money still in it. Once, when I sent back an elderly ladies purse with everything still in there, I received a letter from her saying how much she appreciated the kindness. Law of cause and effect at work I guess.

I wonder if ’stealing’ can also relate to the stealing of someone elses time, kindness, energy etc. Probably. I try and practice giving as much as I can now. Even just a smile does wonders.
