The Difference Between Your Conscious and Subconscious Mind
September 27th, 2006As individuals we only have one mind but within our minds there are two distinct parts, both of which perform separate functions. The conscious mind has often been thought of as the waking mind and the subconscious mind considered the sleeping mind. An easy way to understand how the two parts of the mind are different is to consider the law of cause and effect. The conscious mind is the cause, or the thoughts you think about consciously throughout the day and the subconscious mind is the effect, or the part of the mind that brings those conscious thoughts into effect or you might say into your reality. This is the difference between your conscious mind and your subconscious mind. So it is very important to be mindful of your thoughts as it is what you habitually think about that will manifest as your reality.
If you think about your subconscious mind as the earth and your conscious thoughts as seeds, if you plant seeds of doubt by thinking negative thoughts you will reap a negative crop. So plant seeds of prosperity and what you harvest will be a positive environment. This is the single most creative power available to you and it is simply a matter of keeping your mind on what you want, not on what you don’t want. The difference between your conscious and subconscious mind is that the conscious mind creates the belief and the subconscious mind then executes the belief. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between good and bad, it has no sense of humor. It will faithfully execute your beliefs and create that which is constantly in your thoughts. If you keep thinking about what you don’t want, that will be exactly what you will get, so only think about what you want and this will be made manifest in your experience. You reap what you sow. The philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “Man is what he thinks all day long.”
No matter how big of a hurdle you need to jump over, when you accept that any difficulty or obstacle is only a thought in your conscious mind, rest assured that if you believe you can do it, your subconscious mind will follow that belief and as your humble servant will give you the power to overcome any obstacle. When you choose faith instead of fear, wonderful things will happen in your life.
Understanding the differences between your conscious and subconscious mind will give you the tools to transform your entire life. It is the internal that creates the external. Don’t try and change the conditions of your life externally, this would take a monumental amount of effort and wouldn’t change a thing as long as your thoughts remained the same. Simply change your thoughts and your internal dialogue and the external circumstances of your life will change accordingly. What you see in your mind or can visualize is what you will see appear in your life. So stop thinking about not having enough money, not being in a great relationship or not liking the job or the boss you have. Instead, relax and quiet your mind, take some deep breaths and see yourself driving that new car or living in your new home. See yourself with your ideal partner and feel the emotions as you would if you were actually there holding hands or looking at each other, feel the love between you. See yourself doing what you love to do and making plenty of money doing it. The longer you can hold these positive images and the more emotion you can put into your visualizations the quicker these images will manifest into your reality.

[…] Mind in the Muscle Putting your mind in the muscle is an old bodybuilding term for connecting your mind with your body and seeing as well as feeling every single rep. When you put your mind in the muscle you see what you want to see and this is one way you can use your mind to help you grow new muscle. Arnold Schwarzenegger was an advocate of the mind in the muscle technique and he would see in his mind what he wanted to see on his body. Arnold saw huge peaky biceps and that’s exactly what formed on his body, huge peaky biceps. If you can repeatedly see it in your subconscious mind you will eventually see it in your reality. […]

[…] It is only your fear, which is only a thought in your mind that stops you from flowing naturally. We all face fears in life but how we deal with fear is a determining factor in our quality of life. I have read a number of authorized and unauthorized books on Arnold Schwarzenegger and they all say the same thing about him and that is he never let fear stand in his way and it seems throughout his entire life, everything he touches turns to gold. No matter whether you are a fan of him or not, he is a remarkable individual. I remember reading an interview with him a while back and he said you can only ever keep one thought in your conscious mind at any given moment so make sure you make it a positive one. He went on to say he doesn’t think too much about things when he has to make a decision as when you think too much you end up thinking negatively about the idea and eventually your fears will literally talk you out of doing something you probably could have achieved. Some people may dismiss Arnold as a stupid muscle head but this could not be further from the truth. You don’t reach the heights of success Arnold has without intelligence, will power and a keen sense of awareness. […]
