New Years Resolutions

If you are the type of person who sets New Years Resolutions each year but don’t follow through on those resolutions perhaps this could be the beginning of a great new year for you. Often people over commit themselves with their New Years Resolutions by setting too many or by setting goals they either don’t believe they can reach or have no plan in bringing them to fruition. You don’t even need a plan when you set an intention but what you do need is to regularly think about your intention and ponder how it will come about manifesting in your life. Nothing happens by chance but you can make things happen by visualizing what it is you want and taking the action steps when the opportunity presents itself, let me explain.

Instead of having numerous New Years Resolutions and not achieving any of them why not choose one only and make a plan to set another goal on completion of your first New Years goal. For example if you want to lose 20 pounds of bodyweight first start by imagining yourself fitting into the type of clothes you will be wearing when you are slimmer. See yourself standing on the scales and watching the lower number appear on the screen, hear your friend’s voices as they remark how good you look and really take notice of how good you feel about yourself when you look in the mirror. This visualization process is stage 1. Stage 2 arrives when, after your habitual visualizations you get a feeling of what to do next. It might be a desire to go for a walk before breakfast each day. You might all of a sudden have less desire to eat so many carbohydrates like bread and potatoes. Perhaps a friend asks you if you would like to join them on regular weekend bike rides or trips to the gym during the week after work. These are signs from the universe that your intentions are starting to manifest. You have to be aware of them as they arrive because sometimes they arrive in mysterious ways you wouldn’t expect. Stage 3 is taking action, actually getting up early for that walk or meeting your friend at the gym at 6pm Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Sometimes taking the action can be the hardest part but only you can do this, it will be worth it and once you get into the habit of a new activity it’s so much easier to stick with it. No doubt as your body begins to improve and you see the results, you will be delighted you took the time to see this resolution come to pass.

The losing weight resolution is just one of many common New Years Resolutions but the 3 basic stages to completion are the same no matter what your goal is. Once you set your intention you don’t need to know exactly what your next step will be but by continuing to visualize what it is you intend to manifest, the universe will send you signs until you recognize what action you need to take. Then all you need to do is do it and continue to do it until you are where you want to be or have what it is you intended. This might sound a bit difficult or perhaps it sounds too easy, in any case it definitely works for others and will work for you if you commit to the process.

I really think people worldwide are finally moving forward to a better place. As hard as governments and the media may try and keep us in fear, I feel they are losing the battle, we the people are starting to stand up for ourselves and are taking control of our own lives and creating the future we want, not the future they would like us to have. We are slowly moving towards an abundance consciousness and away from the fear of poverty. We are beginning to understand our bodies and know what we need to eat to stay healthy and look good. We are getting interested in topics like personal development, spirituality and we are learning to take responsibility for our own actions and this is opening up our eyes to greater opportunities and a feeling that we have the power to make ourselves happy people not fearful followers.
