Can You Cheat the Universe?
March 22nd, 2007When I say cheat the universe what I really mean is can you cheat your way through life. By cheating I am referring to committing acts you know are wrong. It still amazes me to think there are people out there who are stealing, lying for personal gain, representing a false image, deliberately hurting other people and killing and still think they can get away with it. The universe works according to a number of universal laws and one of the most significant ones is the law of cause and effect. Nothing escapes the law of cause and effect, nothing at all. Whatever you do, will come back to you in some way or another.
You do not need to be religious, I am not religious, to be governed by the universal laws. The universal laws I speak about are always in effect and they give a type of structure to all things in the universe. Without the universal laws everything would be in total chaos, the laws are responsible for a basic order in our world. Learning about and beginning to understand how the universal laws work was probably one of the most significant turning points in my life. If there was ever such a thing as a rule book on life, a book about the universal laws would be the closest thing you would ever get. As you begin to learn about the universal laws you will understand it is just not possible to cheat the universe. I have written extensively on the different universal laws on this site and have a universal laws category you could begin reading to get you started if this is the first you have heard about these laws.
Getting back to cheating the universe, in this life there is no such thing as a free lunch. What I am saying is you cannot get something for nothing, you always have to earn it and to earn it I do not necessarily mean you have to go to work or a job to earn it, what I mean is you always need to choose what you believe is the right thing to do in every situation. For example, let us start with a basic one. You knock on someones door and you find the door ajar and it opens when you knock on it. You call out for somebody in the house but no one is home. So what is the right thing to do in this situation? You could go in a steal a bunch of stuff while nobody is there and the people you are stealing from might never catch you but the universe will. That is 100% guaranteed. You may not believe me but due to the law of cause and effect, what you have done sends a type of energy out into the universe and comes back to you tenfold due to the law of tenfold return. However much grief your theft has caused the people you stole from, this much grief multiplied tenfold will come back to you. You could say this is your karma coming back to you and the reason why you cannot cheat the universe. So for this example, what you should do in this situation is close the door you knocked on and walk away.
What about if you found a purse on the side of the road and it had $5,000 cash in it but it also had the name and address of the person who owned the purse inside. What would you do? You might really be able to use that $5,000 to get you out of an old debt or take that holiday you have always wanted or you could contact the person who owns the purse and give it back. I am sorry to inform you if you decided to take the money for yourself, you could never get any benefit from that money if you took it. Sure you could spend it and perhaps you may not even feel guilty about doing so but that money you gained in that inappropriate manner would only lead you to pain and misfortune. However, if you gave it back to its rightful owner, you would gain a type of satisfaction from it that was worth more than the money and you would attract to you good fortune from the universe.
It is not that anyone or anything is always watching you but in a way the universe is always watching and the universe watches every move you make through your own eyes so there is no escaping it. If you have thought you can get away with even the slightest indiscretion and I do not mean little white lies to prevent hurting someones feelings or little things like that, I mean more significant actions that you know are the wrong thing to do, they will come back to you in some way or another at some time in the future. Maybe nothing might happen for weeks or months but the universe will eventually send back to you what you send to it. So keep doing the right thing and the universe will simply respond through the law of cause and effect by sending you more of the same. The universal laws work wonderfully in your favor the same way they work against you when you do what you know is wrong. You always have a choice and it is never wise to cheat the universe as all you are doing is cheating yourself.
